At the beginning of the 20th century, Buenos Aires was the place where everyone flocked. In the midst of a population explosion, the city welcomed a large number of Europeans and became the largest cultural hub in Latin America. Italians, Spaniards, Turks, and Russians met there, blending their respective cultures with that of the Argentinians. It was from this incredibly rich bedrock that tango was born, which a certain Piazzolla would soon immortalize.
Ophélie Gaillard and her guests trace the history of this cultural fusion, from its distant roots to the masterpieces of tango nuevo. During this extraordinary musical journey, trumpet, cello, and strings unite with percussion, guitar, and bandoneon in a vibrant blend of classical and popular music.
With the support of the Île-de-France Region, the DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, ADAMI, the CNM, and Spedidam. Cello tango album released by Aparté in 2025.
