with the city of Saint-Denis, Suivi la Flèche and the Centre des Monuments Nationaux
On the occasion of the Saint-Denis Festival and the European Heritage Days, discover the medieval sacred songs of the Adriatic.
With a surprising stylistic variety, these texts from Latin manuscripts or Slavonic songs explore the multiple facets of the Dalmatian musical heritage from the 10th to the 17th century, and trace the course of the liturgical year from Advent to Holy Week.
To perform this sacred repertoire, the famous Dialogos ensemble, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and Kantaduri, a group of traditional Croatian singers. This ambulatory concert in the Basilica of Saint-Denis offers a true sound fresco testifying to the dual liturgical heritage of the Dalmatian coast, between Rome and Byzantium.
A timeless moment not to be missed, to discover the Basilica differently.
Singer and musicologist, director and founder of the Dialogos ensemble, Katarina Livljanić is a specialist in liturgical music of the Middle Ages.
