In this period of gradual return to school, we are happy to return in videos to the school concerts, which are among the awareness-raising actions carried out by the Festival and which were held shortly before the start of the lockdown.

Nearly 2,000 students from 75 classes from 60 schools in the cities of Plaine Commune attended Darius Milhaud’s La Création du monde on March 9, 10 and 12, 2020. These concerts were held in various locations throughout the region, at the Maison d’Éducation de la Légion d’Honneur (Saint-Denis), at the Campus Condorcet (Aubervilliers) and in elementary schools in Saint-Denis and Stains.

Performed by the Ensemble Nouvelles Portées and directed by Marc Hajjar, the century-old work with jazz accents was presented to them in advance and in class by artist-interveners.

Presented in the real conditions of a concert, the children were able to interact with the artists at the end of each performance. The aim of this tour is to make classical music accessible, even to the youngest children.

The Festival extends its support to the teachers and long-standing friends of the Festival without whom the awareness-raising activities carried out throughout the year would not see the light of day.
