Born in 1993 in Mulhouse, Quentin Guérillot began his musical studies at the age of 6. He first attended the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental of Mulhouse, then continued at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Strasbourg, where he pursued outstanding studies in organ, piano, and harpsichord under the guidance of Jean-Paul Rey, Daniel Maurer, Matthieu Schweiger, and Aline Zylberajch, among others.
He furthered his training in Paris with Vincent Warnier and was the sole candidate admitted to the first undergraduate cycle at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the organ class of Olivier Latry and Michel Bouvard in March 2013, then entered the harpsichord and basso continuo class of Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou in March 2016. Now holding a National Diploma in Professional Music Studies (DNSPM) in organ, he also pursued musical writing studies at the same institution, earning three awards in harmony (with Fabien Waksman), 20th–21st century composition (with Alain Mabit), and counterpoint (with Pierre Pincemaille).
He enriched his training as a concert performer by participating in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Lorenzo Ghielmi, Bernard Haas, Daniel Roth, Louis Robillard, and François Espinasse for organ, as well as Andreas Staier and Arthur Schoonderwoerd for harpsichord and fortepiano. Additionally, he studied the Italian organ repertoire with the renowned organist and musicologist Andrea Macinanti.
A curious and eclectic musician, he gives numerous concerts on various keyboard instruments, performing a wide-ranging repertoire from the 17th century to the present day. He accompanied the Orchestre Mozart de Toulouse as continuo player on both harpsichord and organ during the “Musique en Mer” festival in 2014, and played the harmonium part in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle with the Choir of the Orchestre de Paris under the direction of Lionel Sow at the Philharmonie de Paris in June 2015. He returned to this prestigious venue in January 2017 for a concert with the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the orchestra of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, performing on the grand organ in Bartók’s Château de Barbe Bleue conducted by Matthias Pintscher.
As a soloist, he has performed in prestigious venues such as the Royal Chapel of the Château de Versailles, the Royaumont Abbey, and the Cathedral-Basilica of Saint-Denis.
Quentin Guérillot served for two years as the titular organist of the historic Rickenbach organ (1887) at Saint-Joseph Church in Mulhouse, and is currently the titular organist at the Cathedral-Basilica of Saint-Denis.
He performed at the Festival de Saint-Denis in 2019 in the Orgue Nouveau program with Khrystyna Sarksyan and David Guerrier, in 2023 in La Pasión Argentina conducted by Leonardo García Alarcón, and in 2024 for a cine-concert of Dreyer’s Jeanne d’Arc, accompanying the film on organ. He has also taken part in outreach initiatives, including a masterclass at the CRR93 Aubervilliers – La Courneuve and educational concerts for schoolchildren in the Plaine Commune area with Cappella Mediterranea in 2022.
