A sought-after recital partner, he regularly performs with soprano Sabine Devieilhe; their latest album of lieder by Mozart and Strauss, released by Erato, was met with widespread acclaim (TTTT Télérama, Opéra’s Diamant, CD of the Month in Opernwelt…). Sabine and Mathieu form a close-knit duo that has appeared on many prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, Musikverein Wien, Wigmore Hall London, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and the Berlin Philharmonie.
He has also been the long-time musical partner of tenor Michael Spyres, beginning with their first recital at the Opéra de Bordeaux, which has since led them to perform across Europe (Paris, Frankfurt, Rome), in the Americas (New York City, Washington, Lanaudière), as well as in Seoul.
Alongside soprano Marina Rebeka, he has recorded an album of melodies entitled Voyage(s) for the Prima Classic label in partnership with the Palazzetto Bru-Zane, while also giving regular recitals (Teatro Real Madrid, Tchaikovsky Conservatory Moscow broadcast live on Rossiya TV, Salle Gaveau Paris, Palau de les Arts Valencia…).
He has also collaborated with tenor Benjamin Bernheim in a widely noted recital at the Salzburg Festival and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, with soprano Diana Damrau in Hong Kong, and with tenor Pene Pati in Aix-en-Provence and Bordeaux.
In the opera world, Mathieu Pordoy is a distinguished vocal coach, renowned in particular for his expertise in the French repertoire, which he has championed at some of the world’s leading opera houses: Wiener Staatsoper, Zurich Opera, Paris Opera, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Monte Carlo Opera, working alongside eminent conductors such as Fabio Luisi, Mikko Franck, John Eliot Gardiner, Louis Langrée, and Michele Mariotti.
Deeply interested in teaching and the passing on of knowledge, he has been invited to mentor young singers in Canada, Russia, and regularly at the Academy of the Paris National Opera. He also serves as the Artistic Coordinator of the Opéra-Comique Academy.
Mathieu Pordoy currently holds the position of Casting Advisor at both the Opéra de Dijon and the Opéra-Comique in Paris.
