Described as a ‘trumpet fairy’ by the newspaper Le Monde, French trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary won the “Revelation” category at the 2016 Victoires de la Musique Classique awards.
She began playing the trumpet at the Conservatoire du Mans, before entering the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in Classical Music in 2015 and the Jazz and Improvised Music department in 2017.
A Warner Classics artist, she released her first album The Voice of the trumpet in 2017 with the Orchestre National de Lille. Her second album, Mademoiselle in New York, recorded with the BBC Concert Orchestra under Bill Elliott, was released in October 2019 and received 4 stars from BBC Music Magazine. Her third album, Piazzolla Stories, recorded with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo and conducted by Sascha Goetzel, will be released in 2021.
She performs in prestigious halls throughout the world, including the Théâtre des Champs Élysées, Concertgebouw, Teatro Colon, Cadogan Hall, Tokyo Opera City, Hanoi Opera House, Cape City Hall… with orchestras such as the Netherlands Philharmonic, London Chamber Orchestra, Les siècles, Philharmonia Orchestra, Ludwig Orchestra, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, les Violons du Roy, Orchestre National d’Ile de France, Kanazawa Ensemble, Suzhou Symphonyorchester, Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra…
She has worked with renowned conductors such as Vladimir Ashekenazy, Paavo Jarvi, Vladimir Spivakov, Sascha Goetzel, Tugan Sokiev, François-Xavier Roth and Elena Schwartz at international festivals including the Rheingau Festival, the Cartagena Festival, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the Easter Festival, the Annecy Classic Festival and the Proms.

Lucienne is the winner of the 2019 Arthur Waser Prize, becoming the first woman to receive the award for young musicians from the Swiss Arthur Waser Foundation.
Lucienne Renaudin Vary performed at the Saint-Denis Festival in 2020 in a programme of symphonic jazz with the Orchestre national d’Ile-de-France, conducted by Troy Miller.
