Conducted by Jérémie Rhorer, Le Cercle de l’Harmonie explores the natural links between the Classical and Romantic repertoires. A regular guest of the most prestigious institutions in France and abroad since its creation in 2005, the orchestra has performed at the Philharmonie de Paris, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Opéra Garnier, the Opéra Comique and the Grand Théâtre de Provence, international festivals (Aix-en-Provence, Beaune, Edinburgh, BBC Proms, Bremen) and European houses such as the Fenice in Venice, the Bozar in Brussels, the Barbican in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Philharmonie in Cologne, the Konzerthaus in Vienna and Dortmund.
Jérémie Rhorer and the musicians of the Cercle de l’Harmonie are united by the conviction that using the instruments for which the composers wrote and conceived their works enables us to rediscover their spirit. They defend the intimate relationship between text and musical texture. In addition to Mozart’s masterpieces, the group is at the service of a pivotal period stretching from Gluck to Wagner, via Berlioz and Bizet. Jérémie Rhorer’s constantly renewed passion and bold vision enable the Cercle de l’Harmonie to share an enthusiastic interpretation of these centuries of music.
Le Cercle de l’Harmonie, orchestra in residence at the Grand Théâtre de Provence, is supported by the Ministère de la Culture – DRAC Paca, the Centre National de la Musique, Covéa Finance, Montpensier Finance, Exane Asset Management, EDF, the ADP Group and the Fondation pour Le Cercle de l’Harmonie under the aegis of the Fondation de France.
