Arnaud Marzorati first studied singing at the Maîtrise of the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, where he trained with renowned masters such as James Bowman, Noël Lee, Martin Isepp, and Sena Jurinac. He later earned a First Prize in Singing from the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP), in the class of Mireille Alcantara. His repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary music.
He has performed with prestigious ensembles such as Les Arts Florissants, Les Talens Lyriques, Le Concert Spirituel, andLe Poème Harmonique. He took part in the creation of the opera Alfred-Alfred by Franco Donatoni and Le Balcon by Péter Eötvös at the Festival Aix-en-Provence. His operatic roles include Figaro (Opéra de Lyon), Papageno (Opéra d’Avignon), Malatesta, and Leporello (Festival d’Orange), among others.
A passionate scholar of the history of French chanson, Marzorati conducts musicological research supported by the Fondation Royaumont. The Cité de la Musique frequently invites him to curate programs aligned with his research.
Several solo recordings released under the Alpha label reflect the originality of his approach to historical song and have been praised by critics, such as Le Pape musulman by Pierre-Jean de Béranger and La Bouche et l’oreille, featuring songs by Gustave Nadaud.
With Les Lunaisiens, the ensemble he founded, he recorded 1789 (Alpha) and Révolutions (Paraty), both centered on revolutionary songs from the 17th to the 19th centuries, followed by Votez pour moi! in 2017 on the Aparté label.
In 2014, he gave a recital series at the Musée d’Orsay on the theme of World War I (Jaurès, peace, and propaganda). In 2015 and 2016, he launched new interdisciplinary encounters between popular song and classical music, in partnership with the Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice, the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles (CMBV), France Musique, and the national stage in Dunkirk.
For the 300th anniversary of the Opéra-Comique, he created La Guerre des théâtres in 2015. In 2017, he premiered Atys en folie at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta (Malta), in partnership with the CMBV. In 2019, he and Les Lunaisiens entered into residency at the Festival des Abbayes in Lorraine and became “associate artists” at La Barcarolle in Saint-Omer.
Among his many recordings with the Muso label are albums exploring the musical worlds of Brassens and Boris Vian, the Napoleonic epic with Sabine Devieilhe, and musical interpretations of Molière and La Fontaine through two book-albums published by La Joie de Lire. In 2023, he released Merd’ v’la l’Hiver with Stéphanie d’Oustrac on the Alpha-Outhere label.
In 2024, Arnaud Marzorati performed at the Festival de Saint-Denis with his ensemble Les Lunaisiens in the show Le Réveil des Oiseaux.
