German bass-baritone André Morsch enjoys an international career in opera and concert, especially in Baroque and Classical repertoire.
In the current season he debuted at Oper Köln in a new staged production of Haydn’s Die Schöpfung with Marc Minkowski and at Teatru Manoel Malta in the title role of Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
Most recent engagements include Mozart’s Requiem in Romeo Castellucci’s production, conducted by Ivor Bolton, the role of Christus in a staged production of Bach’s Matthäus-Passion and Papageno in Simon McBurney’s acclaimed production of Die Zauberflöte, all at Theater Basel next to Malatesta/Don Pasquale for Opéra de Dijon.
In concert, he has worked with, amongst others, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Les Talens Lyriques, Le Poème Harmonique, Het Residentie Orkest, Brussels Philharmonic, the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Akademie für Alte Musik, RIAS Kammerchor, Balthasar Neumann Ensembles, Arion Ensemble Montréal and conductors such as Frans Brüggen, Jaap van Zweden, Ingo Metzmacher, James Gaffigan, Thomas Hengelbrock, Hervé Niquet, Christophe Rousset, William Christie, Vincent Dumestre, Kenneth Montgomery, Marcus Creed, Jan Willem de Vriend and Sylvain Cambreling.
