55th!
This year, the Festival once again presents a great diversity of artistic proposals so that everyone can experience unique emotions in the Basilica of Saint-Denis or the Legion of Honor, exceptional places of our heritage.
Conductors from different traditions, from the Latvian Andris Nelsons to the French Julien Chauvin via the Argentinian Leonardo García Alarcón and the Franco-Irish Fiona Monbet, singers from all generations and horizons, from the young Julie Roset to Sir Bryn Terfel or Lea Desandre, Jeanine De Bique or even Gregory Porter and Benjamin Appl, are invited for this 2023 edition.
The most classic works such as Beethoven’s famous 5th symphony or Haydn’s Creation rub shoulders in the Basilica with a tribute to Nat King Cole and a more secret Beethoven, that of popular songs from the Celtic world.
The concerns of the new generation of musicians echo those of their contemporaries (and ours!) concerning our planet. The concert event Dies irae carried by the formidable violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja gives a striking testimony to this in the Basilica.
And at the Legion of Honor, the great part given to female composers in the programs of the Trio Sōra and Marie-Laure Garnier pays tribute to talents that have been neglected for too long.
See you at the beginning of June for the 55th edition of the Festival!
