Over the last few years, Amandine Beyer has established herself as a benchmark interpreter of the Baroque violin repertoire. Performing throughout the world as a soloist and with her own ensemble, Gli Incogniti, which she founded in 2006, she has won unanimous critical acclaim and the highest awards (Diaposon d’Or, Choc de l’année, Gramophone Editor’s Choice…).
The ensemble Gli Incogniti takes its name for the Accademia degli Incogniti, one of the most active and libertarian artistic and academic circles of 17th-century Venice. Indeed, it is the spirit of this Accademia that drives the Incogniti: a taste for the unknown in all its forms, experimentation with sound, research into the repertoire, rediscovery of the great classics and little-known masterpieces.
The genuine pleasure they derive from working and playing together meets their primary ambition, which is to convey a committed and coherent vision of the works they perform, according to their combined sensibilities and tastes. Today, the group is one of the leading ensembles in historically informed interpretation, exploring a repertoire ranging from the Baroque (Vivaldi, Bach, Pachelbel) to the Classical period with Haydn, CPE Bach and Mozart.
Gli Incogniti is an associate artist of La Coursive Scène nationale La Rochelle. The Ensemble is supported by the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Département de la Gironde. It regularly receives support from Adami, Spedidam and CNM Export for its concert and recording activities, and from the Caisse des dépôts for the Académie.
This ensemble is in residence at the Festival de Saint-Denis as part of the DRAC Île-de-France’s support for festivals.
