BACH TOCCATA AND FUGUE IN D MINOR
(version symphonique de Leopold Stokowski)
For his first appearance at the festival, Emmanuel Krivine, the new music director of the Orchestre National de France, has chosen to seduce us by conducting this Requiem à la française, both elegant and subdued, performed by the Maîtrise of Radio France and Stéphane Degout, who is unequalled today in this piece.
The concert opens with the famous Toccata et fugue by Jean-Sébastien Bach in Leopold Stokowski’s symphonic version.
